How to Wear Your ThatHair Halo SetUpdated 3 hours ago

Putting on your ThatHair Halo Set is quick and simple. Whether it’s your first time wearing extensions or you’ve used halos before, this guide will help you achieve a natural, seamless blend.

You can follow the steps below or watch our quick video tutorial.

Watch: How to Wear Your Halo Set

This short tutorial shows the full application process from start to finish.

Step 1: Prepare the Extensions

Before applying your Halo, gently brush the extensions using a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles.

This helps the hair fall smoothly and blend naturally with your own hair.

Step 2: Section Your Hair

Using the 🔗 Rat Tail Comb from our ThatHair Styling Kit, section the hair at the crown of your head.

Create a top knot using a hair tie or clip to keep the top layer of your hair out of the way. Leave a small amount of hair loose around your face to help with blending later.

Step 3: Place the Halo

Place the Halo on your head like a headband.

The clear wire should sit about one inch behind your hairline, while the extension hair falls toward the back of your head.

Make sure the Halo feels balanced and comfortable before moving to the next step.

Step 4: Secure the Halo

Once the Halo is positioned correctly, gently press the back of the extension under the occipital bone (the small bump at the back of your head just above the nape of your neck).

Your Halo includes optional clips that can be used for additional hold.

• Snap the clips into your hair if you want extra security
• If the clips feel uncomfortable, they can be easily removed — the Halo will still stay in place using the wire and your hair

Step 5: Blend Your Hair

Release the top knot and allow your natural hair to fall over the Halo.

Using the Rat Tail Comb, gently pull small sections of hair over the wire until it is completely hidden.

Then lightly brush your natural hair together with the extensions to create a smooth, natural blend.

Adjusting the Halo Wire

If the Halo feels too loose or too tight, you can easily adjust the wire to create a better fit.

This video shows how to resize the Halo wire so it fits securely and comfortably.

Quick Tips for the Best Fit

Correct placement
The wire should sit about one inch behind your hairline, not too far back.

Blend downward
When covering the wire, pull your hair down and over it, rather than lifting your hair upward.

Use clips if needed
If your hair is fine or very smooth, the clips can help keep the Halo secure.

Do the shake test
Gently shake your head after applying the Halo. It should feel secure but comfortable.
