How to Adjust the Wire on Your ThatHair Halo SetUpdated 39 minutes ago
Your ThatHair Halo Set is designed with an adjustable wire so you can customize the fit to your head size. When the wire is adjusted correctly, the Halo should feel secure, balanced, and comfortable throughout the day.
If the Halo feels too loose, too tight, or shifts when you move your head, adjusting the wire will usually fix the issue.
Watch: How to Wear Your Halo Set
Before adjusting the wire, it helps to see how the Halo should sit on your head.
This video shows the correct placement of the Halo so you can better understand where the wire should sit.
When Should You Adjust the Halo Wire?
You may need to adjust the wire if:
• The Halo slides down the back of your head
• The Halo feels too tight or uncomfortable
• The extension feels unbalanced
• The wire sits too far forward or too far back
A properly fitted Halo should sit securely without feeling tight.
Step 1: Prepare the Halo
Lay your Halo on a flat surface and gently brush the hair with a wide-tooth comb to remove tangles.
This helps keep the extension smooth and prevents pulling while adjusting the wire.
Your Halo features:
• a clear adjustable nylon wire that supports the fit
• optional clips that provide extra hold if needed
The wire controls the overall size, while the clips help anchor the extension in place.
Step 2: Place the Halo on Your Head
Hold the Halo like a headband and place it on your head.
The wire should sit:
• about one inch behind your hairline
• above your ears
• around the crown of your head
This positioning helps keep the Halo stable and allows your natural hair to cover the wire.
Step 3: Adjust the Wire Size
Your Halo wire includes a small adjustable bead that allows you to resize it.
To adjust the wire:
• Pinch the bead between your fingers
• Pull one side of the wire to make the Halo larger
• Pull the opposite side to make the Halo smaller
Make small adjustments until the Halo sits comfortably without sliding.

This image shows how to adjust the wire using the bead.
Step 4: Secure with the Optional Clips
Once the wire fits properly, you can use the clips for additional hold.
• Open the clips
• Snap them into sections of your natural hair
• Make sure they feel secure but comfortable
The clips are optional, but they can be helpful if your hair is fine, silky, or very smooth.
Step 5: Blend Your Hair
Release the top section of your hair and let it fall over the Halo.
Using a rat tail comb or your fingers, gently pull small sections of hair over the wire until it is fully hidden.
Then lightly brush your natural hair together with the extensions for a seamless blend.
Final Fit Check
After adjusting your Halo, check that:
• the wire sits about one inch behind your hairline
• the Halo feels secure but not tight
• the extension does not slide when you move your head
• the wire is fully covered by your natural hair
A properly adjusted Halo should feel lightweight, comfortable, and natural.
✅ Pro Tip
Most customers only need to adjust their Halo wire once or twice. After that, it will usually stay set to your preferred size.
